happy earth day!

Here are a few of the fruit trees flowering in my yard...
Just a bit of the beauty that we need to protect on our beloved planet.
Happy Earth Day!

treasure house

I have to say I am fascinated by these homes...
I am a big fan of antiquities and although minimalist houses can
be very beautiful, I do love to have lots of treasures
from the past surrounding me.

april creations-yay!

We have been busy as little bees here chez White Owl...
Maybe it's being invigorated by spring, or maybe the very real possibility
that we will be featured in a fancy/fashiony print magazine,
(sshhh, it's a secret for now...)
At any rate, we have been whipping up some spring prettiness.
Want a peek?

hello spring!

A couple of weeks ago our dear friend Selmin had a party
to welcome spring.
The festivities were loosely based on Nowruz, which is a spring/ Persian New Year
celebration.
Her party included pretty spring decorations, lots of flowers, food
and drawing pictures of our wishes for the coming year.

passport? check!

So, we got a lovely opportunity to go to Cannes this spring
for the film festival. We are actually submitting films and will be in a
pretty little villa a few minutes away from the festival (and celebrities)
for 12 days! Courtney and I are so excited! But we both realized that
we had to renew our passports and get new photos- yikes!
Our photos came out o.k., but not nearly as fancy
as these pictures of our grandmother and great-grandmother.

white owl and modern lace

Sometimes we only think of lace as being romantic and feminine,
but it's really amazing how lace can also be very modern
depending on the way it is cut and the shapes we choose.
Here are a few pieces that really have a more modern edge...

Not really your grandma's lace, right?
