passport? check!

So, we got a lovely opportunity to go to Cannes this spring
for the film festival. We are actually submitting films and will be in a
pretty little villa a few minutes away from the festival (and celebrities)
for 12 days! Courtney and I are so excited! But we both realized that
we had to renew our passports and get new photos- yikes!
Our photos came out o.k., but not nearly as fancy
as these pictures of our grandmother and great-grandmother.

Sometimes we only think of lace as being romantic and feminine,
but it's really amazing how lace can also be very modern
depending on the way it is cut and the shapes we choose.
Here are a few pieces that really have a more modern edge...

I just have to mention these lovely creations by local Michigan artist Taryn Boyd.
Taryn makes purses, rugs, pillows and hair accessories all from recycled t-shirts.
I especially love the sphere pillow in white!
What a fantastic way to be eco-friendly and stylish too.
